Libby

Use your library card to access thousands of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines for FREE with Libby. You can log in to Libby on any web browser or download the app for mobile phones and tablets. You can also use Libby on your Kindle or Nook. You’ll not only have access to our Library’s collection, but to the entire digital collection of the RCLS. When you add your library card to Libby, search “Ramapo Catskill Library System” as your library.

Kanopy

Kanopy is a video streaming platform available to all Livingston Manor-Roscoe Library cardholders for FREE. Use your library card to choose from thousands of critically-acclaimed movies, inspiring documentaries, award-winning foreign films, and more with Kanopy. All Livingston Manor-Roscoe Library cardholders are given five tickets per month to stream the programming of their choosing. You can log in to Kanopy via any web browser, or the Kanopy app, using your library card number and PIN/password.

New York Times All Access

Gain access to everything the New York Times has to offer with your Livingston Manor-Roscoe Library card for FREE!

  • News: Engage with expert reporting, including breaking news, culture coverage and analysis.
  • Games: Unwind with Spelling Bee, Wordle, the Crossword and an archive of over 10,000 past puzzles.
  • Cooking: Enjoy delicious recipes, advice and inspiration daily.
  • Audio: Enjoy full access to podcasts and audio journalism on NYTimes.com, via the Listen tab on the New York Times app, and on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
  • Wirecutter: Choose products confidently with reviews and real-world testing.
  • The Athletic: Follow in-depth, personalized coverage of your favorite sports.
  • TimesMachine: Explore a browser-based digital replica of all issues of The New York Times from 1851 to 2002. Education users can download up to five PDFs per day, with unlimited browsing.
  • The New York Times Article Archive: Access partial and full-text digital versions of articles from 1851 to today, with redirects to TimesMachine where applicable.
  • Subscriber-Only Newsletters: An exclusive collection of newsletters, available only to subscribers.
  • The Learning Network: Resources for students and faculty to help them learn and teach with The New York Times, accessible via nytimes.com/learning
  • New York Times inEducation: Curated reading lists against key areas of study, updated weekly, accessible via nytimes.com/edu.
  • Gift Articles: Gift up to 10 News articles or Cooking recipes per month.
  • Saved Articles: Save articles by selecting the Save button in the article tools list under the headline. Saved articles are accessible in each registered user’s Reading List.


Accessing New York Times from the Library:
If you are connected to the Library’s Wi-Fi or using a patron computer, you can simply navigate to NYTimes.com, click “login” in the upper right-hand corner, and login using your credentials or create an account. You will then have unrestricted access.

Accessing New York Times at home or elsewhere:
To access NYT outside of the Library’s internet network, you will need to use the provided link and the “redemption” code. Simply click “redeem” and follow the prompt to login (or create an account if you have not yet done so) and you will then have full access to NYT via their website or app. Please note that this access expires every 24-hours and this process will need to be repeated.

*Access is only available to users ages 13 and up.

Search engines such as Google use algorithms which can make searches subjective and often prioritize advertisements. A Library Database uses keywords and subject terms alone to provide objective results.
