Peter Pan in the Catskills (ROS)
May 7 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

In collaboration with The Hound Books, the Roscoe Branch invites you to explore the culture and history of the Catskills and celebrate everything that makes these mountains extraordinary. Join Bill Birns, editor of the newly published Peter Pan in the Catskills, for a conversation about the flora, fauna, art, and more that inspired this beautifully illustrated collection of essays.
Selected and with an introduction by renowned Catskills writer Bill Birns, Peter Pan in the Catskills is the first original title issued by Purple Mountain Press, a majority woman-owned independent press. A portion of the profits from its publication supports the Gilboa Museum.
About the Editor
Bill Birns has lived and worked in the Catskills for fifty years. A graduate of Union College, Bill holds a Ph.D. in rhetoric and linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His 1986 dissertation was a study of the dialect of the Catskills. He is also the author of A Catskill Catalog (2011), available from Purple Mountain Press.
